Spyderco knives based in Golden, Colorado was the first to develop many of the features seen today in modern tactical knives. In 1981 they developed and released the “worker” model that featured a thumb hole for one hand opening and a pocket clip for carry. Since then they have grown to be one of the most recognized names in the industry. They have a huge product line with many different models and designs. They are known for their designs and quality in very economically priced knives. We do not try to carry all of their products, but focus on a few of the proven best performers and designs.
On a personal note, I carried a Spyderco Endura for about 7 years while a firefighter/EMT and Rescue Captain. I put that knife threw allot and did many things with it that I should not have. It never failed me, I retired it when I left the fire service and still have it today. It is scratched, worn and beat to hell, but still tight, sharp and functional.
