General

You may only use the website to purchase products which are legal for you to own or possess.   You must be at least 18 years old to order any knife products and at least 21 years old to order automatic knives with the proper ID (see automatic knife law).  Some items on the website may be illegal to own, possess or carry in your area or certain other areas of the country.  You shall be responsible to check all applicable federal, state, and local laws concerning the purchase, ownership, use, and possession of any products sold to you on the website.  Lantac LLC shall not be held responsible for any injury, unlawful use, unlawful possession or misuse of any of the products we sell.

Legal Notice

All notices from Lantac LLC to You may be emailed to the email address you provided or by regular mail to the street address you provided and will be deemed delivered within fourteen (14) days after being sent. Notices from You to Lantac LLC shall be emailed via the contact form on our website or to scot@lantacknives.com.  Delivery shall be deemed to have been made by You to Lantac LLC fourteen (14) days after the date sent.

Lantac LLC takes the privacy of its customers very seriously and your personal information will be used only to process your order.  We do not sell or disclose our customers information to anyone.  Our website uses SSL technology and security features to safeguard your information.  We may contact you via email about announcements or sales.

Automatic Knife Law

 
The Switchblade Act, (Pub.L. 85-623, 72 Stat. 562, enacted on August 12, 1958, and codified in 15 U.S.C. § 1241–1245), as may be amended, (the “Act”) prohibits shipment of automatic knives across state lines, with the following exceptions:

(a) to civilian or Armed Forces supply or procurement officers and employees of the Federal Government ordering, procuring, or purchasing such knives in connection with the activities of the Federal Government;(b) to supply or procurement officers of the National Guard, the Air National guard, or militia of a state, territory or the District of Columbia ordering, procuring, or purchasing such knives in the connection with the activities of such organization;

(c) to supply or procurement officers or employees of the municipal government of the District of Columbia or the government of any State or Territory, or any county, city or other political subdivision of a State or Territory;

(d) to manufacturers of such knives or bona fide dealers therein in connection with any shipment made pursuant of an order from any person designated in paragraphs (a), (b), and (c).

Sections 1242 and 1243 of the Act shall not apply to:

(e) any common carrier or contract carrier, with respect to any switchblade knife shipped, transported, or delivered for shipment in interstate commerce in the ordinary course of business;

(f) the manufacture, sale, transportation, distribution, possession, or introduction into interstate commerce, of switchblade knives pursuant to contract with the Armed Forces.

(g) the Armed Forces or any member or employee thereof acting in the performance of his duty;

(h) the possession, and transportation upon his person, of any switchblade knife with a blade three inches or less in length by any individual who has only one arm; or

(i) a knife that contains a spring, detent, or other mechanism designed to create a bias toward closure of the blade and that requires exertion applied to the blade by hand wrist, or arm to overcome the bias toward closure to assist in opening the knife.

Lantac LLC will not sell to any individual or group outside the State of Kentucky without the above conditions being met. This does not apply to automatic knives manufactured, distributed, purchased or sold within the State of Kentucky. Proper identification may be required before the order is shipped in cases where restricted items are purchased.

It is the responsiblity of you the buyer and not the seller Lantac LLC to insure you meet the criteria above before ordering an automatic knife.  It is also the responsibility of you the buyer to ascertain if it is legal to own an automatic knife in accordance with your local and state laws prior to ordering an automatic knife.  If you are uncertain please check with your local or state officials, you  may also check with www.AKTI.org.  The American Knife and Tool Institute (AKTI) maintains up to date information on knife laws in all fifty states.  It also contains information on automatic knife laws.  Lantac LLC makes no warranty as to the correctness of the information on the AKTI website.
 

Shipping and Delivery

Lantac LLC ships merchandise to locations within the United States of America using our normal method of shipping via USPS Priority Mail, although this is more expensive than some standard shipping methods it provides you with your merchandise normally within 2 or 3 days.  Most people do not want to wait 7-14 days to get their purchase.  We may also ship some items via UPS.  Additionally, Lantac LLC  normally ships with no signature required, but with USPS tracking.  We do not insure the shipment.  The risk of loss and title for all merchandise ordered on this Web site pass to you when the merchandise is delivered to the shipping carrier.  If you request we can ship signature required or insure the package for the additional fee of the insurance.

International

Lantac LLC will ship merchandise Internationally to Canada, Western Europe, Oceania and Australia.  Our normal shipping method is via USPS First Class International or Priority Mail (if less than $40.00) for a flat fee of $40.00.

Customs and import duties may be applied to International orders when the shipment reaches its destination. Such charges are the responsibility of the recipient of your order and vary from country to country. Contact your local customs office for details.  Lantac LLC shall not be responsible for any taxes, duties or tariffs under any circumstances.  Shipping laws are different in each country. It is your responsibility to check with your Customs office to verify whether the country to which you are shipping permits the shipment of your products. Lantac LLC is not responsible for any direct, indirect, punitive, or consequential damages that arise from improper international shipping practices.  Lantac LLC shall not be responsible for any shipments which are lost, stolen or seized by customs and no refunds will be given.

Sales Tax

Lantac LLC charges sales tax for merchandise ordered on this Web site shipped to customers located in the state of Kentucky.

Return Policy

If you are unhappy with your purchase you must notify us within 3 days of receipt and get authorization to return it.  We will refund your purchase price minus the shipping cost and the 3% PayPal Fee by the same method in which you purchased the item i.e. PayPal, credit card etc. PayPal no longer refunds their portion of the fee which is 3%.  The item must be in the same condition as it was when shipped to you along with all packaging, paperwork, box etc.  You must ship the item back to us in the same method as we shipped to you, if it came packaged in a box it should be returned in a box.  You will have 10 days to get the item back to us.  It is suggested that you insure the package, Lantac LLC will not be responsible for lost or stolen returns.  The refund will be issued when we receive the item and review it’s condition.  If a customer is deemed to have excessive returns we may at our sole discretion apply a 15% restocking fee.  Warranty issues are the responsibility of the manufacturer and you should contact them for warranty service.

Miscellaneous

VOID WHERE PROHIBITED:Although the information on this Web site is accessible worldwide, not all products or services discussed in this Web site are available to all persons or in all geographic locations or jurisdictions. Lantac LLC  reserves the right to limit the provision of their products or services to any person, geographic area, or jurisdiction they so desire and to limit the quantities of any products or services that they provide. Any offer for any product or service made in the materials on this Web site is void where prohibited by law.
GOVERNING LAW: In the event of litigation both parties agree that the Law of the State of business registration of Lantac LLC shall apply and both parties shall consent to the jurisdiction of said State’s courts, or in the event of diversity of citizenship, the United States District Court for the (District). Both parties expressly waive a trial by jury.
MISCELLANEOUS: The Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and Lantac LLC with respect to this Web site. The Terms and Conditions supercede all prior or contemporaneous communications and proposals, whether electronic, oral or written between you and Lantac LLC with respect to this Web site.
